Design and Technology (Electronics) at Calday Grange Grammar School

Course description

There are 2 Modules of work plus a Practical Project, making up 3 units of assessment. Module 1 Introductory Electronics Module 2 Further Electronics Module 3 Practical Project.

Entry requirements

The subject offers the opportunity to study Electronics, to build upon the knowledge established at GCSE in Physics or Double Award Science and to further develop problem solving skills learnt in GCSE Design and Technology. The emphasis throughout is on the practical investigation of devices and components and the whole course adopts a systems approach to the subject. Students will become familiar with the usual equipment associated with this subject such as digital meters, function generators, oscilloscopes and computer simulation programs.
