IT Users BTEC Level 1 Certificate at Stafford College

Course description

The course is made up of eight Units: three core units, which everyone takes; two compulsory personal skills units and three optional units. The optional units enable you to study particular areas in more depth. How is the course examined or assessed? All units are assessed and graded during the course. Units 1 and 2 are assessed using an externally set Project Assessment. An overall grade for the qualification is awarded, taking into account the successful completion of assignments and project work to an agreed deadline and minimum attendance of 80% for all modules, including Pre GCSE English and Maths.

English & Maths

We are committed to helping students improve their skills in English and maths.  Students on a full-time course at College who missed out on GCSE qualifications at grades A-C in these subjects at school will attend additional classes and receive support to enhance their grades.  Depending on individual ability, students will work towards GCSE, City & Guilds or Functional Skills awards to ensure that they have the qualifications needed to progress to university or employment.

Entry requirements

Students must have achieved a reasonable standard of education and have a good attitude to work and study.
