Information, Communication & Technology Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at Seevic College

Course description

Equivalent to one A-Level, this course would be beneficial to anyone who wishes to work in the innovative, exciting and fast-paced worlds of ICT.

You will use a variety of communication skills, providing you with an understanding of the skills an employer want and how to adapt the message to you audience and learn about the types of information helped in the workplace. 

This academic course includes a reasonable amount of employer engagement, manifested in live briefs and project work as well as work experience. 

This qualification has been written in collaboration with both HE institutions and industry to ensure that it is fully relevant to the ICT Industry and will give glear progressions routes.

Course content

Mandatory units:

  • Communication and Employability Skills for IT
  • Computer Systems.

Optional units:

  • Computer Systems
  • Database
  • Computer Animation
  • Spreadsheet Modelling.

Entry requirements

General Entry Requirements

  • Average point score of 5.3, calculated from all GCSE subjects. Your point score MUST include at least five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above - including English Language or Maths.

    If your English Language is a D/3, your Maths must be at least a C/4 and vice versa.

Specific Entry Requirements

  • Grade C/4 or above in GCSE Maths           
  • Grade C/4 or above in GCSE English Language.  


You will be assessed through internal coursework units. Many of the coursework units are delivered using a project-based approach both independently, in groups and in some areas in collaboration with a local company. 

Financial information

You will need access to a suitable PC. This does not need to be a high specification machine and there is access to PC's at the college.

Future opportunities

You can progress to a higher level of study in a range of ICT subjects, continue onto an ICT apprenticeship, as well as progress to a range of possible careers.
