French at The Pingle School
What will I learn on this course?
The topics covered at AS level include:
family and relationships
The topics covered at A2 level include:
the multicultural society
contemporary social issues
literature and history
How will I be assessed?
A levels will normally comprise four assessment units (two for AS and two for A2).
Assessment will be through regular homework and multi-skilled tasks. The normal pattern envisaged will be for candidates to complete AS at the end of their first year of study, and A2 at the end of the second year of study.
The requirements for this course are a grade C or above from a full course GCSE in French, and commitment, stamina and a good dictionary.
The first two weeks are crucial! Confidence will grow quickly. Languages are not harder than other subjects and your teachers are always willing to help.
