Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children`s and Young People`s Settings CACHE Diploma Level 1 at Bradford College

Course description

This qualification will develop your knowledge and awareness of the types of provision in the Health, Social Care and Children and Young People's sectors. It is aimed at those who wish to develop an understanding of these settings before deciding whether working in the sector is appropriate.

Course content

The course incorporates:

Mathematics, English, Health, Safety and Well-being and a work placement.

You will complete an Award in Personal, Social and Development as part of the course.

The course includes options of either Health and Social Care or Children and Young People's Settings.

Entry requirements

A minimum of  GCSE English at Grade F/1 and a qualification in  Mathematics.

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and interview will be required.


Each Unit is assessed through a unit assignment. Tasks within these assignments vary and you will be assessed using methods such as: written work, posters, verbal questioning and portfolio building.

Future opportunities

The qualification will allow you to gain the knowledge, understanding and skills required for employment and/or career progression in the sectors and will provide opportunities for the development of transferable skills and progression to higher qualifications.
