Course description

Archaeology is the scientific and historical study of past human societies based on material remains, buildings, structures and artefacts, ranging from pre-history through to modern times. You will study and handle a wide variety of archaeological artefacts and develop observational and recording skills.

Course content

You can expect to:

  • Develop and understand archaeological terms and concepts
  • Study and handle a wide range of archaeological artefacts
  • Have the opportunity to attend day trips to museums, professional archaeology units and sites of archaeological significance
  • Develop the observational and recording skills required by archaeologists
