OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Introductory Diploma in Health and Social Care
Course Overview Cambridge Technicals are vocational qualifications that are designed to give a work-focused alternative to A Levels. There are no exams and is portfolio based. Course Duration In the first year students will complete the Subsidiary Diploma which is the equivalent to 1 A Level. Students will complete the Diploma, which is the equivalent to 2 A Levels in the second year.
Five A*-C grades at GCSE including a grade C in English Language and Maths
Assessment of Introductory Diploma Through coursework students will be assessed on the following units: • developing effective communication in health and social care • equality, diversity and rights in health and social care • health, safety and security in health and social care • development through the life stages • sociological perspectives for health and social care • psychological perspectives for health and social care and promoting health education. Assessment of Diploma Second year units are assessed through coursework: • promoting health education • nutrition for health and social care • dealing with challenging behavior • working in the social care sector • caring for children and young people and research methodology for health and social care
