Course description

These qualifications are aimed at anyone who wants to live a more independent life, progress in education and/or their employment prospects; get a job, develop on the job or move onto the next job, as they progress along the career ladder.

Course content

Employability Skills qualifications are designed to support an individual successfully gaining a job, progressing in a chosen field, preparing the individual for further study and supporting the development of techniques required for successful independent living.

This course is split into six modules:

Module 1: Diagnostics
In this section, there is a checklist to help you think about what you will need to learn, practice or gain experience.

Module 2: Rules of the Road
Here you will learn to understand what employers expect from you in terms of your behaviour and conduct whilst employed.

Module 3: Sales Pitch
Customer awareness—understanding who your customers are and how to build a positive relationship with them.

Module 4: Pit Crew
Team working and effective communications.

Module 5: Workshop Manual
Hints and tips on problem-solving, planning and good organisation.

Module6: The Route Ahead
A guide to applying for a job or training and how to impress during that vital interview.
