Course description

The AQA Modern world GCSE course will allow you to study: Key events in British and European History from 1900-1949, including the two world wars and the Cold War. Britain's role in war time from reasons why Britain won the First World war to how life changed because of war. Key case studies of battles such as the Somme in 1916. Germany 1918-1939: The rise of Hitler and life under the Nazi Rule. USA 1919-1941: the roaring twenties, gangsters such as Al Capone, Hollywood, the Jazz age, prohibition and the depression of the 1930s. Coursework is completed on the evacuation of children in World War Two, Evacuation of Dunkirk and the victory in the Battle of Britain.
