Art and Design (Fine Art) - A Level at St Gregory the Great Catholic School

Course description

The Art and Design A Level consists of four units completed over the AS and A2 course. The focus will be for students to develop knowledge, understanding and skills through a combination of workshops, teacher-led activities and personal response to set themes and activities. You will follow a broad course, and will work in a range of media including drawing, painting, mixed media, ceramics, printmaking, photography and general construction work. Good drawing skills are a basic requirement, but in addition you must be prepared and have the ability to work independently and consistently, particularly on home tasks and projects. You will need to develop your own ideas and interests in Art and Design, and to adopt critical approach to your own and other’s work.

Entry requirements

A minimum of six A*-C GCSE passes, including Art.
