What does the course involve?
The four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, developed in Years 8 & 9, will be consolidated and extended. Your knowledge of vocabulary and of grammar will widen, becoming increasingly sophisticated. Language and structures will be taught in topics, which will enable you to deal with everyday situations in a Spanish speaking country.
The final assessment consists of an oral examination conducted by your teacher and recorded on cassette, and one written paper which tests the skill areas of listening and reading. Pieces of written work, done either in class or for homework can be assessed by your teacher for the writing component. Regular and thorough learning of vocabulary and grammar is essential.
