VRQ Coaching Programme at The Piggott School

Course description

The VRQ Football Coaching Programme is a two year course which combines a level 2 and 3 sports coaching diploma with various other sports leadership awards. Over 2 years candidates will gain 17 coaching qualifications which will support entry to University or prepare them for employment in the sports coaching industry. Students will learn how to coach, teach and manage groups of people and will learn the importance of leadership, organisation and communication skills. The diploma is considered by many Universities to hold the same value as 1 A - Level and when combined with the BTEC in Sport provides an excellent pathway for any student who has a passion for sport and leadership. We advise that the VRQ Coaching course should be studied in conjunction with the Sports BTEC - however it is possible to study other A - Level subjects alongside the coaching programme. All of the qualifications on the course are highly respected and nationally recognised which will provide the students with key leadership skills, ex perience and an excellent personal portfolio. The course demands a high level of commitment and dedication and all candidates must have a keen interest in sport and coaching. The nature of the course requires our students to work independently and as part of a team, our students are sports ambassadors and therefore we expect high standards of work and behaviour.
