Exam paper 1
(34% of A Level): 2 hours. Topics 1 to 6.1. 60 marks of short and long answer questions plus 25 marks of multiple choice questions.
Exam paper 2
(34% of A Level): 2 hours. Topics 6.2 to 8 with assumed knowledge of topics 1 to 6.1. 60 marks of short and long answer questions plus 25 marks of multiple choice questions.
Exam paper 3
(32% of A Level): 2 hours. Practical skills and data analysis plus Option topic. 80 marks of short and long answer questions.
Practical work Students will be expected to complete a number of assessed practical investigations over the course. If these are passed, students will be awarded a ‘Practical Skills Endorsement’ by AQA.
Studying Physics will enable students to progress on to a variety of higher education programmes, apprenticeships or into full-time employment.
The university or employment areas include, but are not limited to: Physics, Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, etc.
Physics is also considered a good A Level subject for non-science related courses such as Law, Business and Economi
