ICT - Diploma in Digital Applications (Level 2) at The John Roan School
Unit 1: Using ICT You will learn how to choose between sources of information, carry out effective searches, judge the quality and reliability of the information you find and be selective about what you use. You will demonstrate your ability to use ICT effectively to plan, research, analyse and present information through your work on a major project set by Edexcel. Unit 2: Multimedia You will investigate a range of existing multimedia products, you will learn how to design multimedia products of your own. You will demonstrate your ability to plan, design, build and test interactive multimedia products through your work on a major project. Unit 3: Graphics You will investigate a range of graphic products to find out how images are used to convey a particular message. You will demonstrate your ability to create effective images and graphic products through your work on a major project. Unit 4: ICT and Enterprise You will investigate possible enterprise opportunities and conduct market research to see which ones are likely to be successful. You will use spreadsheet models to find out the effects of different plans such as changing the price of the product, increasing the number of customers, You will research and plan for the launch of an enterprise through your work on a major project. Unit 5: Games Authoring This unit provides learners with the knowledge and skills they need to design and produce interactive computer games. Assessment Each unit has a project to complete set by the Exam Board
Grade D/E at GCSE
DiDA can be used to move onto Level 3 courses or a BTEC National. You can also move onto a Modern Apprenticeship in Digital Applications.
