IT Level 3 OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma at Havering College of Further and Higher Education

Course description

You will study a total of 18 units that have been handpicked by the team to provide you with best opportunity to achieve a thorough understanding of the ICT world. You will choose a specialist pathway that will dictate the units of study. The following pathways are available:

  • Networking & Systems Support
  • Software Development

Regardless of the pathway you choose, you will develop your communication and employability skills for IT and explore a wide range of information systems.

If you have not yet achieved a grade C (or above) in GCSE English and maths, you will be required to attend GCSE resit sessions (if you achieved grade D) or functional skills sessions (if you achieved grade E or below).

Entry requirements

At least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (including English and maths) or a Level 2 BTEC qualification in IT


You will be assessed via written and practical assignments alongside online tests.

Future opportunities

You could progress onto one of our HNC courses in computing and software development.

Employment opportunities could involve work as a systems analyst, database administrator, or technician.
