Law at All Saints RC Comprehensive School

Course description

Year 1

At AS, candidates develop a knowledge and understanding of the legal system and an ability to evaluate its operation and performance. The specifi cation introduces substantive law and requires simple application of aspects of criminal law and civil law (either tort or contract).

Unit 1: Law Making and the Legal System

Unit 2: The Concept of Liability

Year 2

At A2, the specifi cation further develops knowledge of the legal system and of substantive law through criminal law and/or civil law. Evaluation of the concepts of law continues to be developed at this level of study.

Unit 3: Criminal Law (Offences against the Person) or Contract Law

Unit 4: Criminal Law (Offences against Property) or Tort, AND Concepts of Law

Entry requirements

Students wishing to study AS/A level Law must have 5 GCSEs at grade C and above including B in English Language.
