Business Apprenticeship Level 3 at Malvern Hills College

Course description

As Business apprentice you will study mandatory units, as well as optional units relating to your specific job role such as customer service or event planning. You will also study skills which will prepare you for working life, such as time management, organisational skills and being able to prioritise workload.

Course content

The Level 3 programme includes units based on working in a business environment and communication, and optional units which you can select based on your individual job role and/or career/ development needs. You will be working at your place of employment and you will be required to attend College for day release or for short workshops.

Entry requirements

This programme is for students who want to progress from Level 2, also for those with five GCSEs (grades A*-C) or those with appropriate prior qualifications or work experience in an administration role. You will need to be in full-time work and applicants are likely to have some prior experience in business and administration.


Assessments are carried out in the workplace by an Assessor. Units are achieved by written tasks and assessment of the candidate in the workplace. There are also a series of externally set and marked tests.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of the course you will achieve the Level 3 Business Apprenticeship which includes Level 3 Diploma in Business and Administration and the Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Business and Administration. Depending on your job role you could progress to Business Level 4, pursue a business/management or IT course, or progress into a variety of job roles such as office manager, personal assistant or into a managerial role.
