Carpentry and Joinery Construction Diploma - Level 1 at Vision West Nottinghamshire College
This course covers practical and job-related iknowledge to help you progress onto higher-level courses or into employment.
Units include: safe working practices, and construction technology. You will use the latest equipment, techniques and tolls, and learn in modern purpose-built facilities.
The course consists of units which cover safe working practices, building methods and construction technology, forming basic woodworking joints and using portable power tools.

- GCSEs with at least 3 points (grade D) in maths and English or an equivalent plus an aptitude test OR
- The Entry Level Diploma in Construction Skills.
- Consideration will be given to 19+ learners who may not have formal qualifications but industry experience.
You will need to attend an interview with the tutor before being accepted on to the course. You may also need to supply at least one written reference from a teacher or employer (in some cases two) and/or your current school or college report.
Mature students (those aged 21 or over) who do not have the qualifications required for entry may still be eligible, subject to an interview. Relevant experience, a strong portfolio of work and a commitment to the subject you wish to study may be acceptable for certain courses.
