History A-Level at Childwall Sports & Science Academy

Course description

A Level History is an interesting course that has been designed to help students understand the value and significance of world events in the past. Students will develop their powers of expression, their ability to think clearly and to organise material in structured writing. Students should be prepared to study hard, through reading, questioning, thinking independently and through debate and have a strong interest and passion within the subject.

Topics covered:

Year 1
Unit 1M: USA, 1890-1945
Unit 2M: Life in Nazi Germany, 1933-1945

Year 2:
Unit 3L: From Defeat to Unity: Germany, 1945-1991
Unit 4X: Historical Enquiry Tudor Rebellions

Entry requirements

Minimum of 5 A*- C grades in at least 4 different GCSE subjects, including English, Maths and at least a B in History
