Dance A Level at St Laurence School

Course description

At AS level you will learn to choreograph and perform as a soloist and within a duo/trio. You will receive training in technique, performance and safe dancer in practice. Additionally you will begin to develop theoretical knowledge and understanding of the physiological demands made in practice/performance and critical thinking skills for the analysis of choreography and performance within your own work and that of professional repertoire.

Entry requirements

Whilst it is not a requirement for students to have studied GCSE Dance, it is highly preferable and/or a keen interest with technical contemporary and/or Ballet dance experience is desirable. The course is designed for candidates who wish to study contemporary dance in greater depth.
