Spanish AS Level at Parkside School

Course description

The new Spanish AS level is an exciting new course aimed at immersing students in contemporary Spanish & Latin American Society, language and culture. It develops the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing acquired at GCSE Higher tier, through the more adult topics of the Media, Popular Culture, Lifestyles and Relationships.

Entry requirements

As well as a good GCSE grade (a high C or above) in Spanish, students need to have a genuine interest in all things to do with Spain and Latin America and a willingness to express their opinions in the target language.

Assessment

Unit 1 Listening, reading and writing

Unit 2 Speaking test

 

Future opportunities

Students can progress on to the A2 course if they gain a ā€˜Dā€™ or above at AS.
