Health and Social Care - AS / A Level at St Alban's Catholic High School

Course description

The A Level in Health and Social Care has been designed to form a qualification that

provides knowledge and understanding of this vocational area, and how this is used in

today’s caring professions. It is an ideal qualification for those students who want a broad

background in health, social care and early years work that will allow them to progress

to further or higher education, training or a responsible level of employment. It will not

prepare you for a specific career option but will equip you with the necessary background

knowledge that will help you consider a range of possible career choices.

Future opportunities

Students who achieve these qualifications will be fully prepared to enter a variety of

degree level courses in health, social care and early year’s related subjects. This course

also enables students to have the knowledge, understanding and skills to enter into

employment at trainee level. Many such students would undertake further part time study

with the help of their employer.
