Plumbing and Heating Level 2 Diploma at City College Plymouth

Course description

Cause a splash; open the door to a rewarding career opportunity! This course will equip you with the basic skills and knowledge you need to gain entry into the plumbing industry. You will learn the basics of installation, servicing and maintenance of a variety of plumbing, heating and ventilation systems, including bathroom and central heating systems, and gain a nationally recognised diploma. 

Course content

Your individualised study programme will be made up of the following four areas:

  • the qualification you are studying
  • English and maths
  • work experience
  • other activities to develop your personal skills e.g. preparing you for employment, training or higher/further education.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grades D-F (including English and maths). 

Future opportunities

On successful completion you may progress to a level 3 course in plumbing and heating at the College, or consider applying for an Apprenticeship in the sector. Completion of this qualification may also enhance your employability within the building services industry and help you to gain employment as, for example, a trainee plumber or a trainee in the installation, service and maintenance of a variety of plumbing and/or heating and ventilation systems.
