Music at St Mary's College

Course description

The course will help you to develop your performance, listening and composition
skills.
You will learn about classical music through history to the present day.
You will learn how to perform in public and how the audience perceive you.
You will be taught how to compose in the same style as certain composers,
such as J S Bach.
You will research a number of set works by key composers.
You will learn to analyse music.
You will study various social and political situations that have influenced music.

Entry requirements

We would expect pupils to have performed at GCSE level or at least in public
before.
Students should have a good knowledge of theory and notation – Grade 5
theory would help
