Early Years Education and Care - Level 3 Diploma at Yorkshire Coast College
This course offers natural progression from the level 2 course
The CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) is a qualification that prepares you to work unsupervised, or in a supervisory capacity, with children and their families in a variety of settings and environments within the sector of Children's Services. This qualification is the equivalent to three A Levels.
Students spend part of their time in College and part in practical placement applying theory to practice.
The course will cover 4 key areas and contain a number of units within each area.
These areas include:
- Health and Well-being
- Legislation, Frameworks and Professional Practice
- Play, Development and Learning for School Readines
- Professional Development
You will need at least 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above including English and Maths. A Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People Workforce. A Level 2 Extended Certificate in Health & Social Care. Please note - you must complete a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check on application.
After successful completion of the Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education you could choose to continue your study with Higher Education such as a Foundation Degree in Children, Young People and Families or FdEd in Early Childhood Studies or go straight into employment.
For someone looking at a successful career in Childcare, they could find themselves working in nurseries, schools, playgroups, as a Private Childminder or in play-work, which encourages a child’s ability to learn and develop through fun activities.
The demand is really high at the moment for all the different jobs working with children, no matter what you want to do, there’s never been a better time to apply.
The local average wage on entry in to a career in Childcare - depend on qualification – is £10,000 - £16,000.
