Mathematics A Level at Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School
Studying Mathematics at A level covers the essential elements of Pure Mathematics, as well as content in Statistics and Mechanics. As well as being a challenging intellectual discipline in its own right it provides good mathematical support for students who study Biology, Economics, Geography and the Social Sciences. It is highly valued for competitive university courses such as Medicine. Students who intend to study a mathematics based subject at university (i.e. Engineering, Physics, Mathematics) should additionally study our Further Mathematics A level. Further or Double Mathematics extends and deepens the mathematics students come across and counts for two A level subjects.
