Construction BTEC Level 2 Diploma at Burnley College

Course description

This course looks at construction trades and the structure of the industry with units including sustainability, developing construction craft skills, drawing techniques and health, safety and welfare.

Course content

This course will provide you with an excellent grounding in Construction. You will train for nationally recognised qualifications and a career in construction. You will have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of activities to enhance your studies, such as:

  • Employer-sponsored 'Job of the Term' awards
  • Construction site visits
  • Entry into national trade skills competitions, such as National SkillBuild
  • Excursions to national trade exhibitions
  • Voluntary building work
  • Visits to buildings of architectural significance

Entry requirements

Two GCSEs at Grade C or above including English Language OR a relevant Level 1 Diploma and GCSE grade C in English Language.


Asssessment is via coursework.

Future opportunities

The BTEC Extended Diploma in Construction or the study of a construction craft area such as brickwork, plastering or carpentry and joinery.
