Sport BTEC level 3 National Extended Certificate at Trinity High School and Sixth Form Centre

Course description

Physical Education will be taught making maximum use of the excellent facilities. These include: Playing fields, Gymnasium, Sports Hall, Cricket Strip, a Fitness Suite (that is equipped with the latest high specification training machines), Astroturf and a large hard play area.

Course content

Over the duration of the Sport course students will cover 6 units, from Sports Leadership and Practical Performance to Anatomy & Physiology, to Fitness Training for Sport.  


Students work will be assessed in the form of an exam at the end of year 12 and a range of controlled assessments over the two years.  

Future opportunities

This is a two year course which equates to one A Level and recognised by all universities.

The Physical Education Department provides all students the opportunity to get involved in sports trips and events; Trinity Mile, Sports Relief activities, Sports Day, trips to Manchester United, Loughborough and Worcester Universities, PGL Netball and Football tour, just to mention a few.
