None of us exists in isolation and the same applies to the subjects you study. It is important to learn how you and your learning fit in with wider society. General Studies is a useful additional A Level, particularly valuable for university applications because it helps students to expand their knowledge base and understand how their learning fits into the wider world. It also gives students an opportunity to practise a broad range of skills including understanding the arts, the social sciences, mathematics and the implications of scientific developments. The course adds breadth to students’ other courses and develops the skills of identifying and using different kinds of reasoning and argument.
