Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Children and Young People's Workforce at HTP Training

Course description

Apprentices who are undertaking the Children and Young Peoples Workforce Advanced Apprenticeship are required to be employed in a position that can demonstrate competency in working on their own or supervising others. It is therefore essential that there is previous experience within this sector or prior completion of the Intermediate level Children and Young Peoples Workforce Apprenticeship.

Advanced apprentices can work across employment sectors involving Children and Young People, such as a Nursery Worker, Childminder, Nursery Nurse or Nursery Teaching Assistant. Tasks undertaken may include early learning and childcare settings, providing care for children in the childminder’s own home or working without supervision.

Advanced apprentices may be able to progress in their careers to roles like Nursery Supervisor, Nursery Manager, Pre-school Manager / Coordinator. Advanced apprentices, with support and opportunities in the workplace, can progress onto higher education, undertaking the Foundation Degree in Early Years which will support the achievement of Early Years Professional Status at a graduate level. There is also a range of academic qualifications also available at a graduate level.

Appropriate Level 2 qualification and relevant experience.
