Assessment details:

This course will be suitable for students who are hard working. This is a vocational course where assessment is by coursework outcome rather than examination.

Topics covered in this course:

Investigation work looks at work within and careers for the Police Force, Army, RAF, Navy, Ambulance Service and Fire Service.

Students will look at topics concerning :

Team Work within the Public Services Public Service Careers

Public Service Fitness Public Service Skills

Expeditions and Adventurous Activities

Why you should choose this subject:

Lessons are practical and students learn by doing as well as attending outward bound courses and visiting organisation. The practical tasks form part of the assessment, so you don't have to do all written work.

The expedition is planned by the student group and they tend to pick fun activities as part of te assessment possibilities include:


Camping · Paintball · High Ropes


Quad Biking · Water Sports · Orienteering

Students will be fully prepared for the continuing world of post 16 education (BTEC National in Public Services or A Levels) and employment by following this course as it uses all the personal skills that are required for these pathways:
