Entry requirements

On joining the UTC all students take part in an induction programme.  This is designed to engage students on the pathway most suited to their needs and strengths, including vertical pathways.  The programme ensures that all students are appropriately challenged yet are on courses where they can achieve.

We will ensure that each student has the opportunity to undertake examinations and assessments when they are ready, rather than at the end of each Key Stage, thereby ensuring students can progress at an enhanced pace in any particular area of learning.  The tools will track skills in a way that makes delivering a focus on technical excellence and achieving a good range of GCSEs both efficient and easily achievable.

Future opportunities

Students completing KS5 will have many progression opportunities, these include:

  • Advanced Apprenticeship
  • Degree/HNC at University
  • Employment

Whichever route the student chooses to take, they will be able to utilise the strong educational and sponsor links that the UTC has established.
