Buisness Studies at Longcroft School

Course description

Business Studies enables students to develop an understanding and appreciation of current business practice through the study of four modules. You will gain an insight into the main areas of business through case studies, role-play, ICT and discussions. You may have the opportunity to meet with and visit people from the local business community. Students are expected to gain an understanding of the elements of business in an integrated context, both within the organisation and the wider environment. At AS, you will learn how to start up and run a business by studying "Planning and Financing a Business", followed by "Managing a Business". At A2, you will undertake an in depth study of how major companies employ "Strategies for Success" and cope with "The Business Environment & Managing Change" in order to maintain that success. Throughout both AS and A2 you will encounter topics on Marketing, Finance, People and Operations Management.
