IT Diploma - Level 2 OCR Cambridge Technical at Chichester College

Course description

To acquire the fundamentals of current Information Technology that is used within the workplace. Students will gain an understanding of media & business applications, developing websites, software programming and computer apps. Units include the following: • Communicating in the IT Industry • Working in the IT Industry • Website Development • Interactive Media Production • Mobile Communications Technology • Developing computer Games • Fundamentals of Computer Applications.

Course content

Units include the following: • Communicating in the IT Industry • Working in the IT Industry • Website Development • Interactive Media Production • Mobile Communications Technology • Developing computer Games • Fundamentals of Computer Applications If you are a full time student aged 16-18 you will follow a study programme which will consist of your main course, enterprise and enrichment activities, Functional Skills English and Maths, GCSE retakes as well work experience. 

Methods of delivery include: Practical classes, group & individual work, lectures, project work, self-study, internet research, quizzes and tests. 

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at Grades D or Above or DiDA level 2 and subject to interview. All applicants will be invited for a mandatory interview with the Course Leader.

Assessment

Most assessment is through coursework. Functional skills requires a scenario based assessment and is completed at a suitable level for the student (Entry 3 – Level 2) .

Future opportunities

This course can lead to a Level 3 Diploma in IT, Level 3 Media or an
