A-Level Business at West Kent College

Course description

Business gives you an understanding of the many issues faced by companies, and encourages students to develop their analytical and evaluative capabilities in solving them. As part of this course you will explore the different elements within a business – including marketing, human resources, finance and business strategy.

Year 1

Entry requirements

You will need five GCSEs at Grades A*-C/9-4 including English and mathematics, and Grade B/6 or above in a related subject.

Assessment

This is a two-year linear program, with students sitting three examinations at the end of the second year to form the A-level grade. Throughout the two years the students will receive regular assessments which will be in the style of the examination to help prepare as well as in class activities. All work will be assessed against the examination board standards and students will receive feedback.

Future opportunities

Upon completing this course you will be equipped to move into university, a higher apprenticeship or into work. You could choose from a range of specialist business-related degrees, such as finance, retail and marketing.
