5 GCSE grades C or above. A GCSE grade A* or A is advisable in the language(s) chosen.

Students who have GCSE grade B will struggle and will only be allowed on the course at the discretion of the languages tutor at their home base school.


By written and oral examination. The written examination includes listening and reading elements.

You must be prepared to participate fully during the lessons in your chosen language,

carry out independent research and attend compulsory lessons with language assistants
