Chemistry A Level at Norwich School

Course description

Chemistry is a fascinating science, as it is the study of matter and its interactions with energy. Also, it is an important subject for understanding the world in which we live; a world revolutionised by plastics, silicon (chips) and composite materials. Conversely, it is a subject that is sometimes maligned by the press. If we are to improve the quality of life for people, whilst improving the future of our planet, chemists have an essential role to play in research, development and education.

The study of Chemistry develops many important skills: logical thinking, analysis of evidence, making connections, data processing and manipulative skills in practical work. These skills are beneficial in a range of careers, not just in the Chemical Industry.

The course followed is the OCR Specification A.
