Welding & Fabrication Practices Level 2 Certificate at Havering College of Further and Higher Education

Course description

You may wish to train to a standard of practical proficiency in welding. The course is suitable for a wide range of candidates, for example the self employed, adults wishing to pursue specific units and young people who are new to the industry. This course runs at our Quarles campus.

Course content

The course consists of:

  • Manual Metal Arc Welding;
  • Metal Arc Gas-Shielded Welding (MIG);
  • Fabrication Processes (Sheet Metal).

Entry requirements

Students must hold an ABC Welding and Fabrication A Level 1 Certificate or similar qualification in welding with a commitment to this area of work and the potential to satisfactorily complete the course.


The scheme is modular, each unit standing alone emphasising practical skills with the complementary written paper testing relevant knowledge. A full certificate is awarded to candidates who successfully complete all units. Certificates are countersigned by the Welding Institute who partner the scheme.
