Geology AS A Level at Saint Mary's College, Blackburn

Course description

Why is the sea salty? Where did all the dinosaurs go? Why do volcanoes erupt? Where does all the seaside sand come from? Why are some regions of the UK more hilly than others? If you want to find out the answers to questions like these, then Geology is the course for you! Geology is an enormous subject, which stretches way beyond rocks, dinosaurs and volcanoes. It literally covers everything on the Earth - landscapes, oceans, atmosphere, living organisms - and how these have evolved through the 4.6 billion year history of this planet.
