Course description

The Games Development pathway of this qualification includes units on:

  • Sound for computer games
  • Designing tests for games
  • Flash for computer games
  • Computer game design
  • 3D modelling (3ds max)
  • 3D animation (3ds max)
  • 3D environments (3ds max)
  • Digital graphics for computer games
  • Computer game engines (UDK)
  • Understanding the Computer Games Industry
  • Computer game platforms and technologies
  • Research

To enhance employment opportunities the course may also have additional qualifications built into the programme.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grades C or above including English language, Maths and a science subject.


The course is continuously assessed by both practical and written assignments and tests to demonstrate competence.

Financial information

If you are aged 16-18, tuition and registration fees are free. 
If you are aged 19 or over, tuition and registration fees are payable at the start of each year of study; please ask for details.
If you are aged 24 or over, you may be eligible for a Student Loan to assist with your fees; please ask for details.
