Caring for Children Level 1 Diploma at Furness College

Course description

This course will develop the knowledge and awareness of caring for children.

Course content

Units studied include: communication, principles and values in caring, safeguarding, child development and working with others.

Every full-time course will include a real experience of work.

Maths and English form part of this course and will be assessed at the relevant levels.

Entry requirements

Two GCSEs grades D-G or other equivalent qualifications. Students must have a clear DBS certificate.

Assessment

Taught session, placement, workshops. Continuous assessment and multi-choice exam.

Financial information

There are no specific extra costs, just stationery for study.

Future opportunities

Students may be able to progress on to the Level 2 Children and Young People‚Äôs Workforce  or the Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care. Progression is based on aptitude and a successful interview.
