Children's Play, Learning and Development BTEC Level 3 Diploma at Amersham and Wycombe College

Course description

This course is for anyone who works or wants to work at a supervisory level in the children and young people's workforce.

Course content

This qualification is designed to build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas and is split into three pathways:

Early Learning and Childcare
Social Care
Learning and Development Support Services

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade C or above of which one must be English or Maths OR successful completion of a Level 2 qualification including a pass at English and Maths.



You will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range or methods including direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task set by CACHE.

Pens and a folder. A more comprehensive list will be given out at induction.


Future opportunities

This course will prepare you for job roles in the early learning and childcare or social care sectors. You may also wish to progress on to a Level 4 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care & Children & People or a Foundation degree.
