Level 3 Diploma in Forensic Science at Henley College Coventry

Course description

If you are interested in science or want to work within the criminal justice system, or would like to study a related subject at degree level, such as criminology, psychology, forensic science or law, then this is the course for you.

  • You will be studying key areas, including:
  • Scientific principles and methods
  • Forensic science
  • Forensic psychology
  • Forensic media and crime
  • Criminology
  • Chemical lab techniques
  • Forensic fire investigation

Plus nationally recognised Functional Skills qualifications.
You will benefit from lectures by guest speakers and from visits to venues such as crime museums, law courts, science laboratories, fire stations and prisons.

You will be assessed via practical experiments, written coursework, essays, presentations, written examinations, group discussions and other vocationally relevant exercises.

If you are intending to progress to University after college please note that the majority of Universities will expect a grade C English and maths GCSE and you will need to consider this when applying for a level three course.

On successful completion of the course you can progress to University or seek employment in areas such as probationary work, prison service, police, security services or social work.

If you are between 19 and 23 years of age when you start this course you may need to pay course fees. However, we can help you with our flexible payment plans.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs grade A- C to include grade C in maths, English and Science or a level 2 Diploma in Applied Science (overall merit profile) and full level 2 maths and English.
