Course description
Technology dominates almost every aspect of our lives in the modern world, and the internet plays a key role in all parts of society. Understanding digital technologies and how they can be used effectively is a vital skill to have in a business environment. This introductory course will help you do just that! You’ll develop an extensive and varied range of abilities on this course, all relating to digital technology. You might begin with basic office skills like using email clients, spreadsheets and word processing software, before moving onto techniques associated with mobile devices, e-commerce, website design and imaging software. Throughout the course, you’ll be involved in planning, running and leading a number of different design and publishing projects, which help improve your leadership skills and prepare you for work. You’ll have the chance to study English and Maths, developing your written, verbal and visual communication skills for further qualifications or employment.

Coursework will form most of the assessment for this course and will involve a variety of presentations, project work, written pieces, and presentations. If you’re studying English and Maths too, these will be assessed via set exams.
