Art & Design (BTEC) Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at Sir Frederic Osborn School

Course description

The Level 3 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Art and
Design consists of a number of mandatory units
and optional units to give learners the opportunity
to gain an understanding of working practices in the
creative industries.

The mandatory units consist of the following: Visual Recording in
Art and Design; Materials, Techniques, and Processes in Art and
Design; Ideas and Concepts in Art and Design and Communication
through Art and Design. These units will be studied alongside
optional units that are established through student interest.
A portfolio of work is generated to gain subject accreditation and
for use beyond the course during the two academic years of study.
The BTEC in Art and Design provides much of the underpinning
knowledge and understanding for the National Occupational
Standards (NOS).

Entry requirements

Level 2 BTEC Art and Design award or GCSE Art/Design A*-C qualification
