Textiles: Art and Design at The Joseph Rowntree School
Students will complete two units in AS and two units in A2. Students are asked to create visual and tactile meaning through expressive, functional or decorative responses by selecting and manipulating fibres and fabrics.
The course is very art orientated and students are given the opportunity to look at a wide range of textile techniques. Students are encouraged to think creatively, produce interesting and original ideas and to become strong independent thinkers.
To be successful at A-Level, students need to achieve an average points score of 38, which is broadly equivalent to 5 GCSE grades A*-C
You do not require GCSE textiles to take this course but an interest in Art and Textiles is important.
