Course description

Physics is an extremely challenging and stimulating subject.  It is the study of the universe and the laws that govern it. Physics covers the very small – atoms and electrons – to the very large stars and galaxies.  In physics we attempt to answer the fundamental questions – how did it all begin and how will it all end?

This is a two year A Level course.

Course content

• Waves and Particle Nature of Light

• Thermodynamics

• Space

• Nuclear Radiation

• Gravitational Fields

• Oscillations

Entry requirements

  • 5 GCSE’s A*-C
  • Grade 6 in Mathematics
  • BB in Core and Additional Science 

Assessment

You will be examined by two, one hour forty-five minute, and one, two hour and thirty minute final written examinations although there are practical assessments that must be fulfilled to complete the course and form part of the examinable content.

This course will prepare you for an Undergraduate degree course at University.
