Course description

This course will suit learners with a basic understanding of hairdressing who wish to advance their skills for employment or further study.

Entry requirements

  • hairdressing consultation services
  • cut hair using a combination of techniques
  • creatively colour and lighten hair
  • creatively style and dress hair
  • hair colour correction services
  • cut men’s hair using basic techniques
  • hair extensions (optional)
  • maths and English

Assessment

  • Hairdressing Level 2 Diploma, maths at grade four or above and English at grade four or above, or equivalent
  • successful attendance at interview event and satisfactory references
  • you will be required to purchase salon wear, equipment kit, textbooks and consumables

    • September 2014 sees the grand unveiling of a new £45 million Thurrock Campus in Grays which will include restaurants, health facilities, shops and an advice centre. There will also be specialist workshop and studio spaces linked to courses for technology, media and creative arts, and facilities for art, design, logistics, engineering and IT courses.

      There will also be key areas available for public and community use. Hair and beauty salons, a restaurant and coffee shop will also be open to the public and are destined to breathe new life back into Grays.
