Art Photography at St Aidan's and St John Fisher's Associated Sixth Form

Course description

Students are expected to own a DSLR/SLR/compact camera. Students will need to be enthusiastic, motivated and capable of organising themselves. They will benefit from the experience of local professionals who will deliver workshops and demonstrate specific skills for areas of interest.

Photography will enable students to be creative and explore the world around them in their own way. Our students have gone on to study a wide range of courses at Art College and university, including Fashion, Graphic Design, Marketing and Advertising.

Coursework will cover one or more of the following: portraiture, landscape, still-life, documentary, photojournalism, experimental imagery, photographic installation, video, film.

Entry requirements

A GCSE in Art or Graphic communication would be useful (although not essential), creative flair and an understanding of composition is vital.

Pupils must own a digital camera, memory card and a universal card reader.
