Course description

AS Level consists of: • Families and Households • Education • Sociological Research Methods

A Level students take AS and then study: • Beliefs in Society • Crime and Deviance • Sociological Theories and Methods

Course content

Discussion, debate, group work, individual research, videos, presentations and essay writing. Sociology complements Psychology, Government and Politics, Modern History and Media Studies.

Entry requirements

Subject specific entry requirements: GCSE grade C in Sociology, or for students who have not studied Sociology, GCSE grade 4 English Language or English Literature.

Future opportunities

A well respected A Level which will help to gain access to a variety of degree courses and professional qualifications. It is particularly useful for those considering a career in teaching, law, media, health, criminology and social research.
